On October 28, 2026, Tesla will open "Tesla Delivery Center Nagoya Minato" in Minato Ward, Nagoya, as its delivery site for the Tokai region. Tesla says it can hold more than 130 vehicles and handle two to three times the previous delivery scale.

In three lines

  • Tesla Japan announced it will open "Delivery Center Nagoya Minato" in Minato Ward, Nagoya, Aichi, on Wednesday, October 28.
  • Deliveries for the Tokai region will be consolidated there. It can hold more than 130 vehicles and, Tesla says, handle two to three times the previous scale.
  • Cars imported through Mikawa Port (Toyohashi, Aichi), where imports began in July 2026, will be delivered from this nearby site.

What happened

On October 15, 2026, Tesla announced the new site in a press release distributed via PR TIMES. It is inside "Cainz Mall Nagoya Minato" (1-3 Isshu-cho, Minato Ward, Nagoya), using the parking lot. It opens on October 28.

Until now, Tokai-region deliveries were handled at places such as "Tesla Delivery Center Nagoya" and "Tesla Center Hoshigaoka". Those functions will be consolidated into the new site. Tesla says the goals are shorter waits before delivery and a better hand-over experience on delivery day.

What is a "delivery-only" site?

The place where you look at and test-drive a car can be different from the place where you pick it up. Tesla's sites in Japan include showrooms for test drives and consultations, plus "delivery centers" built for hand-over. With many cars parked together on a large lot, the paperwork and explanations on pick-up day are easier to run in sequence.

The link to the import port

Cars come by ship from factories overseas. According to the announcement, Tesla opened an import base at Mikawa Port in Toyohashi, Aichi, and began importing in July 2026. Mikawa Port is known as one of Japan's leading car-import ports.

The plan is to deliver cars arriving at Mikawa from the nearby Nagoya Minato site. Tesla says this will speed up deliveries to customers in the Tokai region and western Japan. My own view: placing a delivery site near the port looks like a logistics idea to shorten the trip from the port to the owner.

A special opening test-drive event is also announced for three days only: October 28, October 31 and November 1.
